Mobile crisis providers are people trained to help in a severe mental health crisis who will come to you in an emergency
If you or someone you know might be at risk for a mental health crisis, it’s important to know your options to get help. You can call or text 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, available 24/7. You can also contact your local mobile crisis team.
A mobile crisis team:
- Responds to mental health crises or emergencies at home, school or in the community
- Provides safety planning and short-term therapy services to help people recover from a crisis
- Is typically covered by Medicaid; but there may be charges depending on your insurance coverage
- Usually supports all ages
Here’s a list of crisis providers who can send out mobile crisis teams. Find the one closest to you – they’re listed by states where they’re available. Even if you don’t need them yet, you can call to check that they come to your area, ask about any costs and other questions.
